Intrahealth, a global provider of electronic medical/health record solutions, announced they have been selected by Canuck Place Children’s Hospice for their upcoming digital transformation project. Intrahealth’s Profile EMR will serve as the underlying digital infrastructure to streamline program delivery and improve the experience for both Canuck Place clients and their families.
Canuck Place provides expert pediatric palliative care for children and families in British Columbia and the Yukon. Their program delivery includes pain and symptom management, medical respite, education and art, music and recreation therapy, end-of-life care, and grief and bereavement counselling. All at no cost to families.
Canuck Place chose Profile, a leading healthcare management solution from Intrahealth (a WELL Health Technologies Company) as the underlying platform for a digital transformation project focusing on three key areas:
- Improving communication between the healthcare team, families, and children through connected electronic patient charts.
- Advancing care using electronic medication reconciliation, electronic bedside medication administration, electronic clinical documentation, computerized provider order entry, and data reporting.
- Building a single source of truth to ensure information is consistent across Canuck Place hospice sites and community work in-home and in-hospital.
Profile was selected because of the ability to easily configure complex workflows especially those related to intake and medications. The project will see several paper-based forms and processes digitized and streamlined to ensure program delivery atCanuck Place provides the best possible experience to patients and families during an extremely difficult time.
