SERVICE REQUEST – SMS – CANADA
Overview
This service request outlines the scope and requirements in order to enable SMS Text Messaging in the Profile EMR. The SMS Text Messaging feature allows for sending SMS messages to a participating patient. The SMS message functionality can be incorporated into many aspects of the EMR, including Appointments, Interventions and Results. The outgoing and incoming message history is maintained within the EMR for review and action.
Scope of Work
Install and Configure Standard Automated Sending of Appointment Reminders
- Automate sending of appointment reminders to participating patients (text messages from the EMR to the patient).
- Standard Parameters: Sends Appointment Reminders to all Patients with Appointments the next day, with active Cell Phone Number and ‘Communicate by TXT’ checked. See User Manual for how to turn this option on / off when implemented, and how to customize your Appointment Reminder Message Template.
Install and Configure Standard Response Handling
- Process appointment reminder message acknowledgements when the patient cancels or confirms the appointment (text messages inbound from the patient to the EMR).
- Standard Parameters: Patients press ‘1’ to Confirm, ‘2’ to Cancel. Any other response variation will record the response in the Patient Items View. See User Manual for how to turn this option on / off when implemented.

- A revised configuration of the EMR that includes Text Messaging capabilities, as identified in the scope section
- Usage documentation
Out of Scope
- Firewall configuration on the customer’s network
Schedule of Work
The work will commence approximately 2 weeks after signature, with completion expected 1 week after commencement.
Commercial Terms
- Intrahealth will invoice customer monthly or quarterly on the basis of the message summary provided by Intrahealth’s current provider. Payment terms are Net 30. Late charges are calculated at prime plus 5%. All rates are subject to all applicable taxes.
- Intrahealth is not responsible for any changes made to the configuration by non-Intrahealth staff.
- Intrahealth is not responsible for ensuring the successful receipt of the message nor that the message will not be read by an unintended recipient.
- The time and regional settings on your server will impact the time messages are sent.
- It is recommended that organisations have a policy around consent and an “Opt-in” or “Opt-out” process.
- Support and maintenance for text messaging is provided under the terms and conditions of your existing service level agreement.
- Cancellation of the service requires 30 days written notice.

Overview
This service request outlines the scope and requirements in order to enable eFaxing in the Profile EMR. The eFaxing feature allows for sending faxes directly from the EMR as outlined below. The eFax functionality is incorporated into many aspects of the EMR, including Letters, Prescriptions, Requisitions, and Forms. The outgoing fax history is maintained within the EMR for review and action. Incoming Faxes will continue to be managed through the Scan Processor.
Scope of Work
Install and Configure eFax Capability in a Production environment
- Enabling eFax in Letters (Including Referrals), Prescriptions, Requisitions and Forms
Deliverables
- A revised configuration of the EMR in the production environment that includes eFax capabilities as identified in the scope section
- Usage documentation for training and configuration resources (delivered through the Self-Service Centre and updated from time to time)
Out of Scope
- Firewall configuration on the customer’s network (if required)
Configuration:
- Say YES to Outgoing Fax Notification if you would like a confirmation email for every fax sent
- Email Address, Contact Person and Phone number is used in you select YES to Outgoing Fax Notification
- Fax Number: This is Your clinic incoming Fax Number, which will be in the header of all outgoing faxes
